and drink all of the time. I really need to bring up my GPA and I cannot work with all of these distractions. I just don't understand why, even at 19, no one wants to do their homework. People thing I am weird or that their is something wrong with me since I am a virgin. This girl even said to me that going to the mall and movies is for 12 year olds and partying is for 19 year olds. I think drinking is fine, but drinking excessively is immature. That is actually what 12 year olds do.

You are so right, drinking to much is a sign of immaturity. You may feel like you are the only one that thinks the way that you do, but you are not believe me. There are probably a lot of girls there that have done things they did not want to because they were afraid of what the others would think of them. That comes from a lack of self esteem, Which it seems you do not have that problem, you do not let other influence you to do what you do not want to do. If the atmosphere does not work for you go to a library or some other quiet place to work, I am sure you will find other around that feel the way that you do. What ever you do, do not let others influence you in anyway, you are the one that has to deal with the consequences and look at yourself in the mirror every day.. You Go Girl and hang tough.

Maybe think about getting some new roommates. Unless you're at an insane party college there have got to be students like you who actually take their education seriously...if not new roommates, just new friends so you can know that really you are totally normal. Try going to, or setting up some study groups, and make some friends there.

It is possible despite all the world around you to reach your goals whatever they may be. I stayed a virgin 'til I was married, and still don't drink alcohol, and I graduated college with a 3.7. Those were my choices, I made them before going to college, and stuck to them through it, but it was a lot easier when I found the RIGHT friends that supported me in my goals (whether they followed them or not).

Good luck

Well, you are in college now. Everyone is adults and can make their own decisions. Some kids take advantage of this and take a couple of years to go wild before they realize that college requires a little bit of work. Some people take it more seriously. But not everyone is the same. If you want to find more people like you then try joining some academic clubs on campus, they'll help you meet people with common interest who are school-minded like you are.

Now there is nothing wrong with the decisions that you make for your life, but there is also nothing wrong with those who decide to drink and have sex. If you respect their choices, then they will respect yours. You can still be friends - you can still go to parties and not drink - hey everyone loves of designated driver - you can also go out to eat, and yes, even go to the movies. Or if they really rub you the wrong way (no pun intended) then distance yourself and find a group with the same interests - they are out there!

Keep doing what you are doing. They are following the crowd and doing what others are doing to fit in. You just keep being yourself and do not worry about what they are saying. Being a virgin is becoming more and more popular with younger people your age. And besides sex isn't something to be taken lightly. With an intimate relationship comes emotions and also the risk of disease. Just keep yourself involved in your education and you will see what their attitudes will get them. Not very far. Sometimes no most times, doing what is right is not the most popular choice. Who cares, better to get and education and graduate with your integrity and values in tact. Then to graduate and not know who what why or when. Nothing like going through college and not remembering most of the 4.5 years you spent there. Good luck and God bless

I admire you for having such a clear sense of self. I was more like you in college too. I was the cute girl who everyone thought was weird. I did more Zen and surfing than drinking. And I liked learning so I didn't mind studying (usually). Now I own a really nice surf business and I am very happy that I didn't waste my life partying. Bet you will be too. Oh, and as for sex, you will know when the time is right. Be mature about that too. Clinging to it is not any smarter than passing yourself around the foot ball team. Just wait until you feel it is right and then see it as just another wonderful chapter in your life.

I will tell you what to do. WHO CARES WHAT THEY THINK! You just go and get your GPA up and if you have to go somewhere else to study, maybe you should move somewhere else. And as far as being a virgin KOODOS TO YOU! Sex can wait but your education can't. you do not want to be 30 and had all the drugs sex and alcohol you want but not an education? All the childesh ways can wait, do what is right and you will go far and have what you want and while you are on your way to work one of those people will be on the corner with a sign that says "will work for food" so get your education and keep your self respect.

There's nothing wrong with doing your work and partying afterwards, but at 19 you shouldnt be drinking anyway.... Stay focused, do your work in a lab or the library, somewhere where there arent distractions to that extent.... Half or more than half will fail/drop out after their freshman year. Don't join the crowd. Do you and be strong.... good luck

FORGET EVERYONE ELSE! I doubt you came to college to have a good time! You probably went to get your degree! Well then do just that!

Find someplace a little ways away from campus, that's quiet & easy to study at! Then get your work done!

And again I say FORGET EVERYONE ELSE! All the druggies will do sucky, & have a terrible life after college, but you my friend, you will live the luxury!

:D

Keep doing your homework. Wouldn't you rather lose your virginity on some beach on a resort island on a vacation you took because you were making so much money from the really good job you got because you got your gpa up to be so high because you didn't indulge too much in all the partying and craziness in college?

or would you rather lose it to some drunk high loser in his dorm room that he took you back to after you passed out, and when you woke up you felt like sh*t and wanted to press charges and blah blah blah..

do your homework.
