My new roommates brought their two cats along with them when they moved in. Now all four animals (their cats, plus mine and my girlfriend's dogs) are peeing like crazy all over the house! HELP! How do we make them stop?

you need to keep them insolated from each other the other roomate should put their 2 cats in their room and you should put your cat in your room!!! go to www.spcafred.org.. i work at an local no-kill animal shelter this is our web-site their is some good info in the questions section! any thime you are bringing new animals into a new environment you should always keep them isoleted.... and seperated escpecailly in your situation if their are going to be new room mates for the cat and dog as well!!! do the scent swap theory... rub ( hand) towels over the different groups of cats and place the towels in the opposite rooms, this will help them get use to each others smell without feeling threatened,,, remember you moved to a new place you are probably some what stressed out and so are they, they also get affected by their environment.... good luck it depends on how their all doing. i would for for the first week let the cats out of the bedrooms at different times to explore the house and then rotate.... it should help them transition easier..... or if the new roommates are the only ones with cats they should be isolated in their bedroooms, so they can adjust to the change you can still do the scent swap between a dog and a cat!!!

this is very common with a sudden change! it will take time and patients! you'll have to start working with them all again to get them back on track! they need to learn where to go again! put cats in litter box when you catch them doing this! when you see the dogs doing this, say no in a stern voice, and put them out side! with so many in the house, if every one pitches in, it should work in less time!! lots of luck!:)
