Agree 100%. If they supposedly are happy then they definitely wouldn't be on here refuting it. They are not atheists but ANTI-THEISTS full of hate.

You're making false assumptions about Atheists. If someone thinks death is the end, maybe he or she will make the most out of life here on earth and try to do their best to make the world a better place. One's accomplishments have meaning to posterity. Many atheists believe they can GIVE their lives meaning by finding some way to make a positive impact on the world. Many Atheists DO take responsibility for their actions, because they think the world would be a better place if anybody did.
Many would say that belief in God is lazy. It could be seen as a cop out. It doesn't matter what you do in this life. As long as you believe in God, you'll be forgiven. Belief in God doesn't take research. It doesn't require trying to learn about the universe through science.
Atheism can actually be a position that takes a lot of courage to have, namely: there's no God, there's no afterlife, there's just you and the world and your one short life. You have to live life to it's fullest and get the most out of it and leave the world a better place than it was, because it's all up to you and the rest of the humans to be good and make the world better. How is that lazy or boring? It's hard work making the most out of your life and life is a great adventure.
If onethinks Theists have failed to prove the existance of God and that science seems to imply that there is no God, it's not a matter of whether or not life is boring without a God. For many, it's a matter of facing facts and having the courage to be a good person just because the world would be a better place if you are.

No, I don't feel sorry for atheists, and especially not for agnostics. I do find the atheistic position rather presumpuous, in a similar way to an unquestioning theistic point of view, but I find agnosticism to be an honest position.
I myself am religious and a Christian, although I'd be the first to admit that my Christian faith does not come easily. But no matter how many doctrines and beliefs I cast aside or reject as unverifiable, I cannot seem to shake my belief that there is something more to the universe, something beyond it, a reason for being and a source of life and consiousness. Unlike the atheist, I do not believe the universe "just happened, for no reason". There is too much in the universe, and especially in life, that seems to "work". After all, why should the evolution of an eye, or flight, or emotions, or intelligence even be possible? The early universe contained an incredible amount of "creative potential", if you will. I stand in awe, and cannot readily explain things without some reference to something surprisingly close to a concept of God.
Just how close this concept of "God" is to the gods of the religions is something to be debated, and something I've yet to conclude.
Peace and blessings, and I hope this isn't too far off topic for the question

the initiating of the universe is likely considered one of the iffiest aspects. I settle for that as far as we are able to comprehend, there is the opportunity of a writer god. yet a writer god (or 'sensible writer') does no longer recommend a ideal, all-powerful, benevolent god that cares approximately us. For that variety of 'god' I easily have considered little evidence for and particularly some evidence against. So notwithstanding if the universe has a writer, I see no reason I would desire to inevitably care approximately him/her/it as they have been probable little extra suitable than a blind watchmaker. certainly, if the 'god' of the Bible did exist, he does no longer be something i might % to have something to do with, only as i does no longer % to have something to do with human mass-murderers and sociopaths. the huge Bang concept does no longer of necessity require a god. it somewhat is no longer a ideal concept and that i do no longer know it completely. i'm going to warrant that we probable have not got a great answer ideal now, and, granted, i do no longer understand how lots i'm able to truly communicate in this because of the fact i've got no longer appeared into each and all of the complicated string concept/multi-universe theories and notwithstanding else justifies the huge bang concept on a much extra complicated point. yet I think of that the scientific technique can be able to get us a extra precise answer interior the destiny because it consistently has interior the previous.

I used to teach religion (CCD, 2nd graders making their communions) and was very much a believer. Then I began to ask questions at the adult classes I attended to prepare lessons to teach the kids. The answers I was given were so amazingly stupid & ridiculous that I started to investigate instead of blindly believing. I've read the Bilbe cover to cover & it is so silly. It's full of conflicting stories & lessons. It's full of reasons for mankind to hate & kill each other. More people have been killed in the name of God than anything else. We are all so eager to believe that we are superior to everyone else...to be part of a large group...to fit in & "belong". The Bible tells us (Genesis) that the sun revolves around the earth & that the stars were created to light man's sky at night. How can God have inspired the person who wrote that? Doesn't God even know that the earth revolves around the sun? The Bible was written by men who wanted to scare & control the world's citizens. To force people to act in a civilized way by putting the fear of a retaliating, vindictive God inside their heads. So many people blindly believe anything they are told without the slightest bit of verification. Most people don't even know what it is their religion instructs them to do. For instance many Catholics believe that a loved one who died is "smiling down on them from Heaven". The Catholic Dogma actually says that the dead all lay in slumber until Judgement Day, when Christ returns to Earth to judge the living & the dead. There is almost no one in Heaven at the present time.... There is not enough time here to go into all the distortions & counterdictions found in that one book that so many people swear by. Love people. Help people. Be good to yourself & to those you love. Honor your vows & committments, be a good neighbor, Keep your word. That's what life is all about. You feel sorry for those of us who understand the truth? I feel sorry for people who believe such nonsense. It's like watching people worship the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus, knowing that it's ridiculous but also knowing it's useless to try to educate them. Read the Bible. Honestly. It isn't that hard to do. You'll be shocked and surprised if you really sit down and read it from beginning to end. Most people have never even read a whole chapter. They want to blindly believe...and so they do. I am not depressed, lonely, or bored. And certainly not angry. I just find it a little sad that so many otherwise intelligent people are so easy to fool when it comes to religion. So easily manipulated & led. I used to be one of them.

I cannot even put into words how much I disagree with what you just said.
Awful? Depressed? Lonely? Bored? ...why? Because we don't have a deity in our lives? If we don't have God, we can't experience the joy of getting married and raising children? We can't experience the excitement and thrill of doing things that we love to do? We can't enjoy art, entertainment, sports, theatre, books, music? We can't make friends and develop intimate connections with them? Life isn't just Sunday morning at church, man... atheists get by just fine without God, and in some cases, even better than believers do.
And also, what do you mean there's no consequences? Are you saying that the ONLY reason you're a good person and do the right thing is because you know God is going to reward you for it later? Without punishment or reward, you wouldn't make any effort to help your fellow man and be kind and loving? I'm sorry, I take offense to the suggestion that atheists aren't motivated to be good people because they don't think that there's any punishment or reward waiting for them in the afterlife. If anything, someone who does the right thing just for the sake of doing the right thing is BETTER than someone who does the right thing because they know God will be impressed.
Sure, atheists sometimes ask "what if?" and "what if there's more?" But here's the important thing. Regardless of whether or not there IS more, atheists don't care. We're here RIGHT NOW, so we might as well make the most of it, whether there's an afterlife or not. A lack of an afterlife doesn't cause someone to lose motivation for living this life; if anything, it would cause someone to do even MORE in this life, since this is all we've got.

Hey, listen, I'm a believer, and I just want to say that I don't think you should have posted this question. I'm sorry, but it's not the best way to be a witness if that's what you were intending to be. That question is better left to maybe your church or a group of people you know are all believers. I have to agree with what a few of the people answering this question have said, which is that that sort of thing (bashing non-believers with our faith in subtle ways) is what leads them the furthest away from Christianity possible. I want to encourage you to please examine your motives for posting that question.

In response to that, I pity the people who continually glorify God and sing praises of his creation as the best of all possible worlds but at the same time wouldn't be able to find meaning in the same amazing world if God did not exist.
And for all I've seen theists talk about heaven, I think it's amazing that you can tell us that we're the ones waiting to die.

Alright. You are genuinely misinformed.
You have equated atheism to a "lazy way to live". You could not be more WRONG!
To be an atheist, that is, to deny the existence of God, requires a great deal more of a workload than you may think. We don't look to a God to fufill our moral and ethical obligations. Every action and thought that we have, we are more concientious about that an Xtian.
Why?
Simply because we know that we are responsible for our own actions. That is how we find our morality, by having the freewill to make decisions and abide by them and their consequences. That takes balls, my friend. It is far from laziness.
Xtians are lazy in this regard, because you have the catch all of the Bible telling you what to do. You cannot make your own choice about a decision without correlating it to Biblical Ethics. And then, when you know something is just dead wrong, you have the "Its Gods will" BS to back it up with.
When it comes to making choices, and living authentic lives, it is the atheist who is proactive. The Xtian is lazy.

I'm sorry you need to feel special in order to live. I don't.
Knowing that nothing will happen after you die just makes this life more precious - don't waste your one chance.
I'm not living the easy lazy life - I think that I should do something relavent with my few years here; that I should make a difference, add to the store of human knowledge somehow. My life is far from boring, and defintely not depressing.
