Of course, you can ask anyone you want to go out. Being a gay is not embarrassing, but being a gay hypocrite is shameful. I don't like those gay hypocrites who couldn't come out of the closet for several years until somebody told the news media.

There is never any harm in asking someone to hang out for a drink and see what happens from that point on. Make it a nutural place at first to feel things out.

Why not ask him out? What have you got to lose? Do you know if he is gay also, or is that the issue? Straight guys can be funny when gay guys approach them...be careful...
Otherwise, if you know he's gay also...go for it...if he says no, then you're no worse off than you are right now...right?
