I think it really depends. Because I think that it would be okay for a mature 12 year old to have their first boyfriend. But then again, some children and young teenagers really arent mature enough to have a boyfriend at a young age.

I wasnt allowed to date or have a boyfriend until I was in high school but I could go out, i.e. roller skating rink or the movies, in boy/girl groups when I was 13. Worked for me...I had the best of both worlds I got to hang out with my girl friends and my crush at the same time.

hmm...age is relative to a person's maturity level. One can have a relationship as early as 13 yrs old; however, I think parents should play an active part in their children's curiosity about sexual relationships. It's hard to discuss w/ kids, I guess, but I think it's very important to have open communication

i think it's good for person to be in a relationship at least at the age of 15 or 16. by that he or she will know much about it.

um well I am not that old I have a boyfriend and I had a boyfriend in preschool but that doesnt really count. So I guess when you think it is ok. oh and I read what other people said but uh my friend little brother has a girlfriend and they are only like 10
