This is one of the hardest things in life to do. I believe you can but you have to learn to rechannel your thoughts and I also think its best to cut off all ties at first. So that you can start thinking about him less and less. Eventually I think that you can be friends but it will have to be when you both have moved on so there are no hurt feelings!

Truthfully, I believe you never really get over your ex. Because if he did something that hurt and you still think about and want to get back at him, you're not over him. Me and my ex-boyfriend were together for seven years off and on, and even though I really despise him, I still love him and he'll always be in my heart.
Maybe you should start dating other guys and find one who reminds you of everything your ex is not, it might work.

There are no easy answers to something like this and unfortunately time is the only cure and even that won't make the thoughts of him go away completely but it will make it easier to cope with and to move on with your life. Good luck and know that there is someone out there for you who will appreciate you and who you will have a good and fulfilling relationship with.

i say no ..... i'm married and still think of mine. remember this if nothing else never start a new book before finishing the last. as far as getting over ex-loves just take it one day at a time. be sure to remove any objects that may remind you of them for starters though

You don't.
You keep busy, and make yourself do things, plan a schedule, volunteer, help friends or other people who need it...do it every day, and soon the hurt begins to subside as time gives you perspective to see what was good and bad about the relationship.
Keep meeting people, and give them a fresh start as much as you can, and soon your thoughts will tend more and more to the present.
No mopeing.

Its hard it is like a death you have to go through a morning period. But don't let yourself get depressed. Life is to good to waste it on thinking about someone that doesn't want to be with you.

I think it really depends on how much you loved him. If you can get through it without nastiness then, there's possibilities. In the meantime...take care of yourself, go out on dates, do things with your friends and have fun!!!

"burry the hatchet"
By getting what ever closure you need and finishing whatever "business" you have with him.
Sucks in the meantime.... I don't think anyone really gets over anyone fully....
