I am 6'0", 141 lbs. Whenever I run track at school I lose weight. My family is big on the low-carb diet, so there are not many carbs in our house, which is what i suspect is the reason i lose weight. What single thing, (or a couple of things) could i ask my parents to purchase that would help me to have fuel when i ran, and to not lose weight?

Gaining or losing weight is a pretty simple matter of how many calories you take in vs. how many calories you burn. If you are burning more calories than you take in then you will lose weight. Since you are running track you are probably burning a lot more calories than the average person. You need to replace those calories. Strictly for weight purposes its not important what you replace the calories with. However for health purposes, you should eat a balanced diet consisting of complex carbs, lean meats and dairy, and mono unsaturated fats.

You need to multiply your weight by 11 and that's how much calories you need to consume to maintain your weight. A pound is equal to 3300 regardless of whether it comes from protein or carbs. So if you want to gain or lose a pound, that's how much calories you should be increasing or decreasing your intake by.
This may sound offbeat, but if you do not want to lose weight, eat ice cream before you run. Make sure the ice cream is not low fat or made with artificial sweeteners.
