This is a relatively simple algebraic math question:

Set up your two comparisons... you are comparing distance and time (km and hours).

80 km in 1 hour is one comparison. The other is 12.9km is "x" hours. "x" is your unknown that you are trying to figure out.

80km / 1h = 12.9 km / "x" h .....cross mulitply your fractions
80km * "x" h = 1h * 12.9 km .....isolate for x by dividing both sides by 80km
"x" h = (1h * 12.9km) / 80 km .... pull out the calculator and punch in the numbers
"x" h = 0.16125 h

It will take approximately 0.16 hours to travel 12.9 km.

If you want to know how long 0.16 hours is you can convert it into minutes by multiplying it by 60 (because there are 60 minutes in 1 hour)

0.16 * 60 = 9.7 minutes.

Therefore, it will take approximately 9.7 minutes.

12.9 kms is 16.13% of 80 kms
16.13% of 60 minutes is 9.68 minutes
.68 of 60 seconds is 40.8 seconds
