this could be due to a number of things,ie a large baby, the way the baby is lying, you could be carrying a lot of fluid, your fundal height could be measuring 40cms in the morning but measure it at night and it could measure 32cms,in late pregnancy the measurement can vary.dont worry about it,enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, good luck.

It could mean you have a large baby if you are regular weight. Since I am slightly overweight, my fundal height was always more than where it was supposed to be. If you have a little extra around your midsection, that could be the cause. Ask your ob/gyn or midwife to schedule you an ultrasound because your baby could be too big to deliver and check your blood sugar because women who have gestational diabetes often give birth to bigger infants. :) hope this helps

It does tend to be 32 weeks = 32 cm. But, it totally depends on the way you are carrying. Your midwife would have said something if she was concerned. Give her a quick call and ask (put your mind to rest).

from what I can gather, fundal height in early pregnancy should be equal the lengh of pregnancy, but in late pregnancy it can differ greatly
