There was this man I worked with, he was in his 40's and I was/am in my 20's, who always flirted with me and acted interested. The girls at work would tell me that he'd always gush about me, how cute and sweet I was. However, we never dated and he never asked me on a date. I was wondering, is it possible that he found me attractIVE but wasn't attractED to me? I just thought it was kind of weird...

I think that guy was just interested in flirting with you because you were younger. He might have just wanted to see if he could get a response from you, or maybe he just wanted to get into your pants.

It is possible to think someone is attractive without being attracted to them. I think some of my male friends are attractive, but I am not interested in anything other than friendship with them. I also think that some of my female friends are attractive, but I am "straight" and not interested in them either.

I'd say it noticing how people look, and how they look to you.
You don't have to act on it. But if you do, ie you go after everyone you think is attractive, then you have issues and people will not think very much of you. That's my theory.

Dear girl he was attracted to you, other wise he would not flirt with you or comment to others how cute you are. He may not have asked you on a date due to the age difference or possibly he could be married or seeing someone, or just not that confident that you would accept an offer. Sometimes there are certain qualities about people we like and find appealing without actually being attracted to them in any other sense. So in answer to your question Yes you can find someone attractive without wanting them in any other way.

He probably found you attractive and also attracted to you. The fact he never dated may be a clue here. He dated no one? There may have been an underlying problem you weren't aware of. Married, impotent, or other reasons. I have found women I was attracted to and were attractive also. My being married and my love and respect for my wife kept me and any feelings I had about these women in check.

Oh sure....my ex boyfriend wasn't that really attractive, but at the time, there were things he did/said/acted that made me attracted to him. It's not all about the looks. There's more to a person. Look at the deeper parts.

You can find someone attractive, yet not be attracted to them. I know a lot of guys that won't take a second look at a woman who smokes, no matter how pretty she is, for example.

It sounds like he is attracted to you. If he only found you attractive then I doubt he'd talk to other people about you.

Good question.
My answer is no though. If he found you attractive then he was attracted to you.
