8oz. = 1 cup....... so I guess you have one half of a cup...

You are comparing weigh to volume. Three ounces by weight of chicken would be about the same size as a regular can of tuna fish. Hope this helps out. The other answers are confusing 3 oz out of a 16 oz pound with 3 fluid oz out of an 8 oz cup.

Half a cup roughly - a whole cup is 8 oz.

3 ounces (US, fluid) is equal to 0.38 cups (US, liquid)...
Use a shot glass.. 2 shots = 3 oz.
