Few people will have sex with a male hooker without a condom because they know they COULD catch aids. Yet Ted had sex with a MALE hooker. Because he was "weak"? I'll bet he wasn't too weak to use a condom.

Servinglordjesus, I don't sin. I don't do things I think are wrong. I don't abuse other people. I'm not perfect, but I decide for myself what is right and wrong.

Ted Haggard did nothing short of admit that he doesn't talk to god in the recent movie bible camp. He told a young child who preached sermons something to the effect of "the cute kid thing is good, use it to your advantage until you get older, then you will have real content." This kid believes that he channels god through his sermons and Teddy pretty much refuted that claim.

I'm sure he does believe in God.
I'm also sure that his conscience is killing him.

The problem is, not only is Haggard a sinner, but so are you and I.
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Isaiah 53:6
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.

Haggard has also done something that all sinners need to do, repent.

Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

We will see in the years to come how "sincere" Haggard really is, because this is the kind of thing that non-believers love to use to paint all evangelicals the same color.

He may have been "smart" enough to use a condom, I don't know. My question for you is are you as smart as Haggard, to repent and ask forgiveness like he has?

You say that you don't sin. Hmm, please read with me:
1 John 1:8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

I am not going to question whether or not Ted Haggard believes in God or not, it's not my place to do so. But since when does being strong have anything to do with wearing a condom?

There are two kinds of belief - 1) intellectual assent to, and 2) complete commitment to. Whenever our lifestyles don't match our convictions, there is some lack of commitment, or some weakness of faith. Everyone "knows" you'll get pregnant without a condom, but lots of people "feel" like "It won't happen to me." Knowledge does not always equal action, if you look hard you'll probably even find an example or two in you own life - I know that I can in mine...

I think this Ted Haggard hypocrite believes in playing politics more than he believes in God, manipulating people by playing up to their baser prejudices, now he has fallen prey to those same prejudices, it's a case of he who lives by the sword etc.

It's always easier to pander to popular prejudice to gain support than it is to educate people out of their prejudices which is a much harder thing to do as people are reluctant to let go of habitual prejudice and want only to hear stuff that seemingly legitimises it.

of course he believes in god. Only someone so naive could degrade himself and make a mockery out of christianity all at the same time. It was his faith that allowed him to do it. He truly believed that no matter what he did when he thought no one was looking would be forgiven by god when his time came. He justified his actions by telling himself that god forgives all.

He was weak in the flesh, the temptations of Satan are strong indeed. If Ted asks forgiveness from God and truly repents, he has nothing to worry about. God's forgiveness is ALL that matters, not fellow man's.

I believe he, he believes in God, but doing what God says, and living your life in such a way that it glorifies his name is another thing, as a good Christian we should show forgiveness towards him, I would have him back in leadership again, but we need to show mercy, Christ was crucified, so we shouldn't crucify Ted Haggard

I'll bet he wasn't too weak to take money from the kid the next sunday in the collection plate either. I wonder how many of the teenaged boys in his church made him feel that kind of weakness on a regular basis

Ted admitted to buying the drugs and getting a massage.

When and were did he admit to the sex?

He believes in God and he sinned.

Have you never sinned?

Come on, we all have. That's we all fall short of the glory of God...and that's why God has given us GRACE.
