i think the world is full of religion, and that is the thing that's wrong, religion in today's society is not what it used to be 100 years ago, at least not as wide spread,,,what society needs is salvation, in the bible , in James , God said that true religion is to visit the fatherless and widows in ther affliction and to keep our self unspotted by the world,,,so unless we are doing this we should not call what we have religion, the world needs to turn to Jesus and be saved ,,but that isn't gonna happen, its just gonna get worse,,, so smile and hang on , this must happen before the end,,,just don't get caught up in it , good luck and focus on Christ,,,a friend

Ok, this answer is based on the assumption you mean organised religion proper.
No. The people who believe in God through their church are the sort of people generally who -need- the guidence that only a good shepard can show them. They need to have a place to go, to keep them off the streets on their day of worship.
For all my complaining on here about other religions, I know they have a place in man's mind and soul, the need, the belief for there to be something more out there, that life isn't completely pointless. That someone, somewhere can answer all the unanswerable questions, and not least, someone to blame when things don't go well.
I mean after all, when you hit your thumb with a hammer, you need -someone- to blaspheme at.

Yes, I do think religion should be apart of our society because religion is good. That is the belief in God and true faith. If someone does not want true faith they don't need to even bother going to church or even looking at the bible. But I'm the type of person who likes going to church and reading the bible, plus learning about God every day! :).

I think that religion should be a part of people's LIVES, for those who are religious.
If your religion doesn't inform your life, you're not doing a good job at being whatever religion your practice.
But I'm talking about your PERSONAL life here, not politics or public policy.

Not unless people can learn "Keep thine own religion to thineself". It's the single most insightful thing I've ever seen anyone say. And spoken by the comedican George Carlin, none-the-less.

Personally, no, but I recognize that it is a very important part of some of my neighbors' lives, and I would not presume to take that away, even if I could. I don't want others telling me what to believe or what not to believe, so neither would I presume to think for others.

I believe if you take the religion out, people will lose faith. How would you know right from wrong without some kind of intervention.

I totally agree. In todays society, religion just gets in the way of progress.
