I like Pellet and Corn burning stoves. They are designed specifically to heat large areas and burn manufactured wood or corn fuel.

It's been since the 1930s for me, but that takes a lot of wood/trees.

Even coal back then was no small amount. It took about a ton of coal for winter, in a pot belly stove. WVA.
Bedrooms were closed and cold.

Seasond fire wood is usually dried about a year, with no sap remaining in the wood.

i used to live in the catskills upstate ny get a timberline it really gets hot also youll wanna burn oak it burns real slow.beach is also a good firewood to use

what EVER YOU GO WITH MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE BEST VENTILATION , AS WOOD BURNING STOVES ARE A BIG FIRE CAUSE IN HOUSEHOLDS....GOOD LUCK
