Hey all, I'm going to NYC next week and haven't chosen my hotel yet. I've narrowed it down to these two and have reservations at both, but I can't decide. So, I need all the help I can get, as I am a terrible procrastinator and so indecisive.

Chelsea Inn - Double Bed, No elevator, shared bathroom (with 1 other room). In room safe, refrigerator, coffeepot, free contintental breakfast.

Union Square Inn - Double Bed, About $150 more (for the week), but Private Bathroom, also no elevator and no other similar amentities, just breakfast.

The Chelsea Inn has my room on the 4th floor, but the Union Square Inn can't tell me my floor until I get there. I'm not too excited about carrying my bags up 4-5 flights of stairs but these are all I can afford. Please don't suggest other hotels, I leave in 6 days, its a little late to be making additional reservations. Any valid opinions, personal experience or observations of either one are great. Thanks so much!

I live near Union Square. There are a lot of New York University students that live in that area. It's a good area for walking and soaking up local color. It's walking distance to Union Square Park, sit, watch, listen to music, always something going in the park.
