I have had the same thing happen and even a couple times my vision "cracked" like a mirror. I was FINALLY told by a neurologist I was having an optic migrane...I was so scared! You don't get a headache - just the weird vision thing. I thought I was having a stoke! Don't worry! Talk to a neurologist for reasurrence!

See a ophthalmologist now. I had a tumor removed from my eye last year. It turned out to be benign. But, I wound up seeing three different ophthalmologist before it was all over. Every last one of them asked, repeatedly, "Have you seen any flashes of light??? They were all relieved when I said no. I'm not that smart, but I suspect that flashes of light is a really, really bad thing. It could be a detached retina which is a medical emergency. Stop reading this NOW and go to the doctor. Otherwise, this could be the last thing you ever read.

Yes, see a specialist, opthalmologist. If you doctor is an MD, he should have sent you to a specialist for diagnosis. There are computer generated tests done in the office that will tell you more. This is nothing to ignore. Please follow up on it. And hopefully, it won't be anything serious, but you will be able to sleep at night with no worries.

You may have nerve damage. Same thing happened to my godsister right before she had an episode when her eye went completely dim. She could barely see light. She has some nerve damage behind her eye that caused it. Go get that checked out by an optomologist not just your regular md.

My mother had the same thing. She went to the eye doctor, the internist, and for a MRI, I believe. It turned out to be a symptom of her panic attacks.

Go to an optomologist, not just the eye doctor. He will do a better exam of your eyes. It could be serious.
