My cat is driving me nuts with the peeing on the carpet. It's in heat and my question is do female cats lose bladder control while they are in heat?

1...It's not so much that they lose control, as they are just feeling very testy and annoyed. Simply confine her to an uncarpeted area till the problem passes.

2...Unless you are using her for breeding purposes, as soon as she is done with this PMS, get her fixed. There's way too many kitties around that need homes. She'll be happier and so will you.

at old age yes but if she is in heat it is common.when she makes her mark to let males know she is ready a male can pick up that scent up to 4 city blocks.and also where she does it in the house the scent is on you so you also maybe bring the male cats around.when you clean her pee spot don't use bleach.bleach smeels like urine to a cat even dogs.when you clean the spot use lemon juice(they hate the smell).after she comes out of heat have her fixed.after she is fixed she may do it again.and if she does then that means she wasen't doin it cause she was in heat.and also,it could be your carpet, some cats are picky of where they use the bathroom.and males are the one's who mark their territory, thats why male spray smells more(amonia)

I don't remember my cats ever doing that while they were in heat but the best thing you could do is have her spayed as soon as possible. You'll notice a difference in her behavior.

No, they just mark their territory to attract a male cat for mating. You must get her spayed!

I don't think she loses control, I think she pees to spread the scent that she is ready, willing, and available! Naughty thing!

No they are just trying to mark their area. Get her spayed and have a quiet life.
