Did they get married at all at a younger age? did they even have mates

In the 1850s, the tendency was that men were slightly older than women at marriage. I found a study citing UK county data that showed women's age at first marriage was 23-25 depending on how rural or urban (urban = older, generally), so men would be marrying generally around 24-28 from other things I've read. At this time, men were waiting to accumulate money and resources (land/houses) before getting married. This only holds true for western cultures, like the US and Europe.
