My puppy poops huge poops 4-5 times a day. Shes good with always doing it outside and has a special spot she always goes. But seriously is she going to always need to go 5 times a day? They are solid poops and not diareha, and I follow the food's directions of 4 cups a day for a 50+ lbs dog, I don't want to cut back on her food because she is a growing pup and not fat. Any suggestions?

I'm feeding her Nature's Recipe which doesn't have any beef corn or wheat, the number one ingredient is lamb...

Feeding is the key, a proper food with more protien like nutro natural, canadie or eagle (my favorites) reduce poop produciton. Also feed on schedule so you know when she has to go.

Yeah, #1 get her onto a good food like Eukanuba. I'm willing to bet that you are feeding some sort of crappy dogfood from Wal-Mart or something like that.

Dogs eat as much as they require for nutrition. If they get all of the nutrition necessary, then they won't need to eat a pound of food a day.

Eukanuba runs about a dollar a pound, BUT THEY EAT AND POOP LESS. You actually end up saving money in the long run by feeding a good food b/c they have fewer health problems.

One last thing, unless your dog will keep eating until she is sick, DON'T pick up the food. Leave it down and let her eat when she is hungry. That way you are far less likely to throw the dog into a tissy if you are 30 minutes late coming home one day.

My suggestion is to keep on cleaning up the dog poop. I would also suggest a better dog food, because if you feed her a good food with less fillers she will not go as much, more of the food will be digested.

I switched to Nuto's Natural Choice from Pro-Plan thinking my boys would go less. But they go way more now and it's much bigger but they love the stuff.I only give them roughly 3 1/2 cups each per day. That seems to fill them up.But my dogs are both fully grown and get lots of snacks as well.
Keep on scooping the poop.
When it gets to where you can't take a step in any direction without getting your foot dirty then you know it's too much.

Check and see if corn is listed first or second in the ingredients. If it is....that can be why!! It is a filler and not digestable. Switch food.

Too much poop....hmmmm....when the dog is constipated!! Thats too much. Try a different dog food. Otherwise happy scooping.
