Yes he will be fine go to your local pet store and get some worming medicine get the kind that gets all worms just in case, not expensive. try safeguard if they have it. and read the directions good it will just go in his food. Dont worry he will be fine and make sure and worm him every month thats what i do will all of my dogs. pick up all of his poop in the yard too. throw it away! and not to be gross but that worming medicine will kill the worms so he will have to poop those out too, but if they are dead you know the medicine is working. give him a few days and it will all be gone. i wouldnt go to the vet to much $$$ a local feed store or pet smart will have the safeguard wormer.

More than likely the worms you are seeing are roundworms. Tapeworms usually come out in small segments. there is a very small chance that you will get the intestinal parasites from the puppy. Just wash your hands after picking up after the puppy Most all puppies are born with intestinal parasites so this is NO reason to give up the puppy. Take your puppy to the vet for a check over, vaccinations and deworming. Your vet will be able to answer any more questions you have

Friendly Hello, Your puppy became infected with tape worms because the breeder did not take proper care of the parent dogs, surroundings and puppy. Fleas are the this cause. When you puppy becomes infected by fleas. The fleas lay eggs and the puppy iches. So the puppy uses his or her mouth to scratch areas on the body the feet can not reach. This causes your puppy to eat the eggs which hatch and become tape worm. This is a paid in the hinny for you. But it is not necessary to get rid of your puppy. Take puppy to vet. Dont buy the over the counter wormer. Just not good enough. Use Dorantal, have your vet put your puppy on the scrip where the puppy takes a pill. Off the top of my head I can not think of what it is called. I am soory for that. This pill will help kill the fleas that are on your puppy when the flea bites the puppy. It also helps to make stronger fleas become not able to produce. Take your puppy to a profeshional groomer. Have them dip the puppy and while your puppy is away. Bomb your house with flea and egg bombs. Use extra bombs as the containers just do not work 100% effectively because of the nooks and crannys in a home that fleas can hide in. Before bombing make sure all your food, dishes, fish other pets are put away so the bomb does not get on them. You animals must be outside the home. If you have small children. Cover their toys. Take every percuation for the safety of your family. Dont forget to do all this same for your other pets as you are doing for the puppy. As they may be infected to. Bomb house leave for necessary hours. Vent house out, pick up pets, children and be sure that you put frontline on your pet or pets before you enter the home again. Yes people can get tape worms. Now after all this. Get on the phone and let that breeder have a ear full.

Blessings and good Luck,

Kelly

You're going to get tapeworms and they're going to eat things from your intestines and you'll always be hungry because you have these disgusting worms in your stomach. Take the dog to a vet but those tapeworms he pooped out, you'll be pooping out next so you should schedule a doctor appointment.

More than likely he was just wormed. Or maybe not. If the puppy has not been wormed, do it. Puppies with little pot bellies have bellies full of worms. Yes its gross!!! But there is a simple solution to get rid of them. Get the wormer from the vet it gets rid of more worms then the stuff you buy at the store.

Nearly ALL puppies are born with worms! Just get him de-wormed..and those are roundworms, not tapeworms..De-wormer is cheap, and if you call your vets, you are apt to find one that will give the first treatment of Revolution for free, as the company encourages the vets to do this, and both clinics in my town do..
Just wash your hands before handling food..You won't get the roundworms.

Are you sure it's tapeworms? If it looks like spaghetti, it's roundworms. It's definitively worms of some kind of worm though, but you need to take the dog to the vet and have his stool tested. Please don't buy over the counter worming medication . It usually only works on one kind of worm , if you aren't sure if the pup has other worms he needs to be checked and wormed by a vet. The pup could also have worms that you can't see.

Hi being that it is a small puppy it is more likely to be round worm that tape worms...however if you go to the vet & ask for a treatment for both you can get one...I would imagine that they will be round worms but he/she needs worming ASAP...no you do not need to get rid of the dog at all...just treat it for worms...DO NOT LET A DOG LICK YOUR FACE...always wash your hands after handling puppies/dogs/animals & you shouldn't have any problems...I have spent 54 years with dogs & many other animals & I have to say I have never had anything from a animal...caught plenty of colds & flu of humans but never anything from animals...just use general hygiene...Regards Jake

First of all, relax. ALL puppies have worms.

Talk to your vet and follow his directions EXACTLY on the dewormer and then make sure that you follow up with a second dose in 10-14 days.
