I'ma go with Mississippi. It's been years since I've been back there but I gotta tell ya... It was all about banjo playing "special needs" children and old women that enjoy chewing tabacco way to much.

Yeah... Mississippi wins that contest for me.

As far as polls go, that fate fell to Mississippi more times than not in recent history. No educated population base, no large industry, Not a whole lot of anything there.

Now that Louisiana has been crushed by the storm, she may be the new title Queen. But you still have Florida. While most of Florida made a quick comeback, another shot or two of storm will knock us back into the 50's.

Not sure what the worst state is, but I take issue with New Jersey being the least aesthetically pleasing. If you get off the Turnpike or the Parkway, you will find that it has as many nice bits as any other state I've been in.

hmmm...I don't really know. I've only been to a few other states besides my own and they have all been very nice and all in the south (I live in the south also). So, I haven't really been to enough states to give a good answer but I do get a bad impression of California......I think of a million Paris Hiltons walking around for some reason.

Sorry if I offended any Californians!

The People's Republic of Massachusetts. California runs a close second, politically or New Jersey, aesthetically.

Florida. Because of the heat and humidity, germs never die. The state is ruled by fire ants and it has rapidly become an insurance comapny's nightmare thanks to the frequent hurricanes. Nice place to visit, but it stinks as a place to live. Lived there 29 years.

Texas - police fascist state w/ Stepford wives-Disneyland aura, boring flat terrain, all the houses look the same, buckle of the bible belt hypocrites, braggadicio arrogant jugheads many of whom are illiterate. The only cool place in Texas is Austin. In the case of Texas, bigger ain't better.
