Has anyone ever had any experience with stomach problems during or after finishing clindamycin? I'm terribly nauseous, and my stomach is burning. It's mostly after I eat. No vomiting or diarreah as of yet, but I feel awful. I finished the prescription 9 days ago, and I've felt sick since the second day I started taking it. It's definitely getting worse. I've been eating yogurt, and taking an acidophilus supplement as well. Any suggestions?

Hey jackie, I'm 24 hours into my labor in that picture. Pregnant women usually have big bellies. I had a 9 lb baby in there.

I don't have any of those severe problems. I'm just still sick after finishing my medication more than a week ago. Just wondering if anyone else had these symptoms, and if they went away by themselves.

Burning, itching, dryness, redness, oily skin or skin peeling may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Remember that your doctor has prescribed this medication because the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

A small amount of this medication may be absorbed into your bloodstream and may rarely cause a severe intestinal condition (pseudomembranous colitis) due to a resistant bacteria. This condition may occur while receiving treatment or even weeks after treatment has stopped. Do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain medications if you have the following symptoms because these products may make them worse. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain/cramping, or blood/mucus in your stool.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction may include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist

Side Effects of Clindamycin

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common - Abdominal or stomach cramps and pain (severe); abdominal tenderness; diarrhea (watery and severe), which may also be bloody; fever. (the above side effects may also occur up to several weeks after you stop taking this medicine)

Less common - Sore throat and fever; skin rash, redness, and itching; unusual bleeding or bruising

Other side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, check with your doctor if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome:

More common - Diarrhea (mild); nausea and vomiting; stomach pain

Less common - Itching of rectal, or genital (sex organ) areas

Other side effects not listed above may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your doctor.

You need to get back into the Doctor if you are done taking it 9 days ago it may be something else. Call tomorrow and get in this week as you seem to be doing everything you can.
