I have made several different ones and here they are:

*****************OOPS, I thought you wanted a trifle, so I went back and retrieved this recipe for you.
----------
Kahlúa Truffle Cake

Ingredients:
Chocolate Sponge

3 eggs, separated
½ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1½ tablespoons cocoa
1 tablespoon flour

Truffle Filling

8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chocolate, chopped
¾ cup butter
½ cup confectioner’s sugar
¼ cup cocoa
¼ cup Kahlúa
1 egg
1 cup whipping cream at room temperature

Dessert Syrup ¼ cup water
¼ cup sugar

Ganache

6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
½ cup whipping cream
Sliced, toasted almonds

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°.
Prepare a 9-inch springform pan by covering the bottom with buttered parchment.

To make chocolate sponge

1. Beat egg yolks with ¼ cup of the sugar until thick and pale yellow, about 2 minutes; beat in vanilla. Gently fold in cocoa and flour.
2. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form; gradually add remaining ¼ cup of sugar beating until stiff peaks form.
3. Fold the egg whites into batter. Pour into pan. Bake 20 minutes or until tester inserted into the middle comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack.

To make dessert syrup

1. Combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook until sugar dissolves. (Do not stir). Set aside to cool.

To make truffle filling

1. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over hot (not boiling) water, stirring until smooth. Set aside.
2. In a separate bowl, beat butter with confectioner’s sugar until soft and creamy. Beat in cocoa and Kahlúa. Add cooled chocolate, beating until well mixed. Beat in egg. Gradually beat in cream until smooth. Set aside.

To make the ganache

1. In a bowl, melt the chocolate over hot (not boiling) water, stirring until smooth.
2. Beat cream into chocolate until smooth and combined. If ganache hardens before use, reheat slightly until it is of spreading consistency. If ganache is not stiff enough to glaze, chill for a short time.

To Assemble

1. Brush sponge cake with dessert syrup.
2. Pour truffle filling on top and level. Chill for one hour or until firm.
Pour ganache over top, sprinkle with almonds.

Chocolate Kahlua Trifle

Chocolate Cake:

I just use a box of German Chocolate cake mix, but you can use a favorite chocolate cake recipe or any other kind of chocolate cake mix. Bake in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Allow cake to cool for 15 minutes, then break up the cake into small pieces in a large bowl. Pour one or two shots of Kahlua onto the broken pieces. This will make it gooey.

Chocolate Pudding Filling:

Use 2 packages instant chocolate pudding mix 3 cups whole milk. In a large bowl, beat (on medium) the instant pudding and the milk for 3 minutes. Place uncovered in the refrigerator and chill until set, about 15 minutes.

Whipped Cream:

2 cups heavy cream
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract (I prefer Amaretto)
(Or just use a large tub of Cool Whip in a pinch)
In a medium-size bowl, whip the heavy cream with the sugar and the vanilla extract until soft peaks form, be careful not to overwhip.

Garnish: Grated Skors bar

Prepare the chocolate cake as recommended above.

To assemble the trifle:

Place 1/3 of the cake in the bottom of a large glass bowl, preferably a trifle bowl. You can also make individual servings in classic champagne (not flutes) glasses.
Place over this 1/3 of the pudding mixture, spreading evenly.
Then spread 1/3 of the whipped cream over this.
Proceed in this fashion until three layers have been assembled, ending with the grated Skor bar.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours, or overnight, before serving.

If they are in season, fresh slices strawberries or raspberries added to the layers between the pudding and whipped cream or even more decadent!!

While cake is baking prepare Chocolate pudding according to package directions. Pour into a bowl or dish. Place saran wrap directly on top of the custard. Place in the fridge to cool.

Assembly: Break the cake, by hand, into medium sized chunks and place in the bottom of a pretty glass or clear bowl. Sprinkle Kahlua over cake pieces. Place sliced strawberries over the cake pieces.
