well i know in Michigan you can be 15 to get Ur permit but you have to go thru drivers ed first. then you take segment 2 three months later. then when you turn 16 you take the road test and can get your license. I have just got my license in September so these are just recent laws.

15 1/2.
The U.S. government is stupid, not dumb.
They would not let a fifteen year old on the streets without at least a little education and guidance first. You must take a driver's ed course to even think of your permit. Why do you think you get a LEARNER's permit first? You have been LEARNING, and you continue LEARNING after you get your permit.
Also, check your laws. Many states just changed the driving age.

yes, you need to go through drivers ed first. after all you still need to take a written test to see if you know the rules of the road.
