I think everyone knows someone who is homeschooled, or should by now! I went through public school, but had as many educational resources at home as homeschoolers, so I think I had the equivalent of both. My brothers and sisters also played school together so we learned and taught each other as well.
I have taught one-on-one in a program that was like a cross between an after school program, tutoring, and home schooling. We even taught correspondence classes.
If you want the best of both, schools such as Texas Tech University offer good high school curricula that can be taught at home or through independent study or tutoring. I recommend such courses, or exams for semester credit, especially to students in public or private school who miss a semester or two due to an illness or failing, and only need to make up that credit in order to keep up with their classmates. You can either take the whole semester course, or if you already have attendance credit, you may only be required to take and pass the exam for the semester. Maybe other schools or states offer the same options, but TTU is the program my students used.

I'm homeschooled and there's this company called Providence Fine Arts Center (only for homeschoolers) that I've been attending classes at since I was 10 or so, and I have a ton of friends there. I went to public school for my junior year of high school and it was nice getting away from the house every day, but the atmosphere was really depressing and i could live without hearing the perverted conversations of everyone every day. It's like brainwashing, almost. Besides the kids though, some of the teachers were OK...I was probably considered a teacher's pet or whatever and I had a 4.0. Oh well.
But now I'm homeschooled again. You can only turn down so many guys down who ask you out. And I got sick of it. And people's dirty minds. And I dunno why I'm writing so much so now I'll stop!

I homeschool my oldest child. He went to public school until he had medical problems that kept him from attending reg.school like he was suppose to.Although I homeschool I do still have one child in public school. I can see a difference in the way kids act from being homeschooled and attending public. I think that a child that is homeschooled can get involved in society just like other kids.To me it is all how the parents push their kids and let them strive in the open society.

Well, I'm home schooled and it's GREAT! And I know about 20 or 30 other kids that are home schooled. In every state, there are at least 100 kids that are home schooled. Why do you need 2 know? Anyway, I hope I helped.

I have homeschooled both of my daughters for over nine years now. My oldest is currently attending college, and my youngest is a junior in high school. Also, we have a homeschool cooperative here in our area, and about one hundred homeschoolers are members of it. Therefore, we know many homeschooled families.

All of my nieces, nephews and one grandchild. (11T) Education in America (in public schools) is no longer about education but CYA paperwork from the Board of E down to the Janitor.
