Wow! You must be an incredibly good person! Well for starters, you can visit www.thehungersite.com and click on the site once a day. They keep track of all the site's visitors, and the sponsors in turn make the appropriate donations according to the results. There are also links on the site to other non-profit groups that work the same way like theanimalrescuesite.com, therainforestsite.com, ecologyfund.com etc. If you make a habit out of visiting these sites once daily, you will be helping make a difference, and still have the rest of your day to work with your volunteer groups.

I was a volunteer at Crisis Hotline in Houston. It's all telephone work, helping those in crisis, in need of emergency housing, food, etc. We would arrange to retrieve women and their children and take them to a safe house. I was also a Literacy Tutor, another meaningful volunteer project. You can volunteer at hospitals. Glad to hear you volunteer at Animal Shelters, I do that as well. I've been volunteering since I was 10 years old.

You might want to apply to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. I have helped build a home for a family, and it is truly rewarding. Even if you don't know how to build a house, you can paint, and learn other skills. It's a great way to give back to your community, meet new people who are into service, and the rewards of volunteering are numerous!

U.S. Coast Guard AUX. If you like boats, and want to get out on the water, and want to do it for free, this is a ton of fun, you will be trained (easy) and put on "Patrol", there are no age limits or restrictions, things happen very fast on the water, and help is not always close by, I can't tell you how many times we've saved lives out there, You are really just a pair of extra eyes and a radio for the USCG, You will be involved (if you so choose) ALL coast Guard related activities except "Enforcement" and "COMBAT OPERATIONS". I love it, great people who love the water and boats, JUST LIKE ME !
