Yes, they would be considered an atheist. Atheist only describes someone who doesn't believe that gods exist. Most atheists don't believe in souls either, but it's not a requirement that one drop all spiritual or supernatural notions to be atheist.

If you really believe there is no god, then you are an atheist by definition.

I have never talked to anyone with both beliefs. Most atheists, including myself, pretty much reject anything supernatural because of the lack of evidence. That is usually the thing that brings you to reject god. I have an interest in such things, but I have yet to see anything convincing.

I believe so. I consider myself atheist, and I do believe in souls. Atheism is the lack of belief in a deity. You don't have to believe in a god to believe in spirits and souls.

Maybe a weak Atheist... though personally I'd say that person is Agnostic, not believing in a Higher Power, but still maintaining some belief in the "supernatural".

You could technically be considered a seitheist, in which you yourself are a divine being with a soul, and any other external powers are not greater than you.

My understanding is that atheists reject ALL supernatural and paranormal claims, and that includes "souls" and "spirits" and things like that. That's part of the reason why I'm not an atheist: I reject God, but in no way do I reject certain supernatural topics which I believe might have some truth.

Last time I checked being an Atheist means believing that when you die you die. Nothing else happens. No soul, no after life, nothing. If someone believes in souls...,they are spiritual in some way shape or form which takes them out of the athiest category.
