Have you never heard any modern people saying they can work, play, dance,.... anything by moonlight.. If you want to attack the Word of God at least don't be stupid about doing it... Jim

In the original Hebrew, they have 2 words for light. One that means the light giver or source and one that means just light. English doesn't have that distinction.
The word for sun was light giver and the word for moon was light.
So, your vain attempt at proving the bible is "scientifically incorrect" is all for nought here.
Why don't you quit trying to find fault with the bible and try to learn from it instead? You will be judged by that book you keep criticizing.
And, you will have no excuse because you've obviously took time to read some of it. You have chosen to not believe in it until someone proves it right. The correct thing to do is believe in it until someone has proved it wrong.
Your attempts to prove it wrong have been failures along with all the other "scholars" that do so.
The bottom line is that the moon provides light at night. Whether it is by reflection or not, is not important. If the moon wasn't there, we wouldn't have light at night. So, the bible is correct.
I don't know how the person below me can say that it is an error. That's being really ridiculous. Especially since the hebrew words like I mentioned above explain it in more detail where english cannot.

That is one of the errors in the bible. The moon is not a light itself, but reflects the light from the sun. I am a Texan by way and am not scared of science. The some answers others have given is a very good example of what you all hear me call "PAT ANSWERS"
I was full of "PAT ANSWERS" when I was a Chtistian. A pat answer is not a deroguratory term, it is just an answer that does not really explain anything or actually answer a question, but it has the apperance of doing so and making the bible look like there is no errors. when a pat answer is not available then Deutronomy 29;29 is qouted to cover up any errors.

You seem to be implying that the Word of The Lord is at odds with that atheist theory that the moon merely reflects the light of the sun. The next thing you're going to tell us is that the sun doesn't orbit around the earth, as is clearly stated in the Holy Bible. And I bet you're going to be one of the surprised people when they try to build a really tall building and everyone winds up speaking different languages. Don't say I didn't warn you!
Just remember, He loves you, but may have to smite you if you keep this up.

What the Bible is talking about is the moon reflects light from the sun, and it is not as bright as the sun so it is a lesser light.

Good answers up above, did you know that people in the Past have seen Bright Lights on the Moon?
Like when a Flash-Bulb goes off.
Some would say meteors caused this Effect. I just don't know.

No it is a reflection of the suns light wich makes it a lesser light.
Lesser meant less than a light source.

Genesis 1:16
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
It gives off light.

Yes, reflected sure but when we take a walk at night we rightly call it walking in the moon light not in the sun light.

Well, I wouldnt go to Texas and try to tell them that the moon ISNT it's own source of light - Bill Nye, the Science Guy, got boo'ed off stage for telling children this at a science seminar. The parents boo'ed him offf stage, telling him that he was teaching against the Bible.
Now you understand why Bush is such a moron! He is from Texas!
