That really is a question for a professional. You should take him to your vet sooner rather than later. If cost is a problem, many local humane societies have veterinarian service at a discounted price, maybe yours does too.

Try buying him some de-wormer at walmart or somewhere, but you should really consider taking him to the vet. All cats, wether they are strays or not are highly succeptable to several parasites, and infections that mess with their bowels and stomach. Its uaually around 30 bucks for the office call, and problay around 12 bucks for a shot or antibiotic.

I can tell you with relative certainty that this is NOT tapeworm. My cat just got over a case of tapeworm, and he got skinny, and was passing segments of worm. tiny white, flat segments could be seen stuck to the fur around his bum. It's definitely not what your cat is exhibiting.
I would, with no question, get your cat to the vet ASAP.
Best of luck

Have your vet check it out. Are you feeding it kitten food only? If you are giving it canned food or dry food for an adult cat, it could affect its digestive system. Some cats are allergic to milk also and that can cause all kinds of digestive problems. They say cats don't need milk except for when they are being nursed by their mother. Once they are weaned, all they need is water. Good luck with your little baby!

it sounds like your kitty has hook worms and coccidia. you should take her to the vet ASAP
the worm medicine you buy at walmart is not any good for anything.
it especially will not treat coccidia
also since you just acquired him you should have him tested for
FELV/FIV which are hughly contagious and fatal disease that could produce some of the syptoms that you described

There are many well educated, experienced and helpful people here on answers, but it's always best to contact your vet especially with this type of situation.
