i am a medium and have had many readings done by other mediums
i have had personal readings and some done in church
i have not came across a fake yet
but i have no doubt that some are out there
which is sad and gives the rest a bad name

a good medium wont wish you to ask anything
they are to give you information ... not the other way around xx

added note
with respect can i just point out that a medium and a psychic are not the same ... although they can be both
a medium does not do tarot or palm reading
they speak with spirit only

I myself haven't been to one but I have been there with a few friends who like to go. Sometimes it's the old lady at a stand in the mall or a fair. Other times its those little houses converted to business for the "mediums." Personally I believe it's a scam to make easy money at the expense of others. Often when I hear the "medium" talking to my friends I catch her using little bits of information that my friend gave to her without even realizing it to make her predictions. Afterwards I'll mention it to my friend who didn't even realize she gave away several hints and clues. Other times the predictions are nothing more then exactly what the client wants to hear. On one very disturbing ocassion a medium told my friend bad things would happen to her but that if she bought an expensive charm and amulet that she would be safe. It ended up being a sales pitch for get this.. a "protection amulet" for $200. When that didn't work she said she "feared for my friends well being" and tried to sell her a $150 "protection" ring along with a sack of herbs on a string instead. I couldn't believe what I was hearing and proceded to drag my friend out of there but only after I told the "medium" what a horrible person she was for trying to take advantage of good people by using there hopes, dreams, and possible futures against them. If you go at all do it only for fun and nothing else, don't spend a lot of $ either (some of these people want 100+ bucks for a simple tarrot or palm reading!)... you work hard for it so why should the medium get it with such little effort? This person dosn't know you and will try to trick you into believing what she says is genuine just to get into your purse.

I did have a tarot reading at a party once. The lady was right that I was having problems with a girl. She even said we'd meet again later on in life and everything will be fine. Well, we "met" through email a couple years ago and everything was fine. Of course I am married now and have moved on. So I guess you can say the tarot reader was right! Although I don't believe in that stuff.

Mediums are 100% ********. Ever see Sylvia Brown on Montel? It's all on what you WANT to believe. I see massive holes in their stuff but those who want to believe are amazed. For both fortune-tellers and those who talk to the dead, they always go thru this 'fuzzy communication' stage where they are only getting bits and pieces of information (it's when they're fishing and looking for acknowledgement and help from you, either with your body language or your words). And then, when someone's 'talking to the dead', they get these full-blown sentences from the dead person when it can't be proven true or false. It's all bull.

Yes, and she started laughing, so I hit her.

I do like to strike a happy medium. Sorry.

If he or she is good, you don't need to ask questions. In fact, say and do nothing. That stumps them.

Christians do not visit mediums. The Bible calls them soothsayers. They consult with the dead, and they will be judged by God for it. People who go to them are sinning against God, and better repent.
