I have a secular/nonChristian view, but I think Christmas should be a celebration. Look at President's Day. It's the combined celebration/observance of the birthdays of Lincoln and Washington. We don't use those days to mourn them. Birthdays of deceased people are often observed by celebrating their lives.

If any day should be mourned by Christains, it should be the day of Jesus' death, I'd think.

We celebrate Christmas, the birth of Christ, because the Good News has come. The Logos, the Word. A birth is always joyous!

Why on earth would Christians mourn the coming of the Son of God, the world's Redeemer?

I'm not religious myself, but I can appreciate the joy most Christians associate with the man they call Savior. Even his death on the cross was according to God's plan, in their view--a joyful sacrifice made freely out of love for all mankind.

Why would we mourn our Saviour's birth? He was put on this earth to die for our sins so we can be reborn. My sins are forgiven because of Jesus. For this I celebrate his birth and death.

Huh? You must mean if Easter is an observance of His death...Then the answer is: No, if He hadn't died for our sins, we'd all still be going to Hell.

If you're being sarcastic, that's different.
