The question you're asking is pretty undefinable given even there are over 6,800 languages.. of which.. 96% of those are spoken by 4% of the population. Matter of fact.. half the world's languages are spoken by only eight countries with 832 spoken in Paupa New Guinea alone. The remaining countries speaking half the world's languages are Indonesia with 731, Nigeria with 515, India with 400, Mexico with 295, Cameroon with 286, Australia with 268, and Brazil with 234. But even having said that, linguistical surveys are incomplete in numerous countries. Furthermore, with languages dying all the time, we will probably never know the true answer.
