ASA, u shouldnt challenge people to speak about islam and christianity. In order to get someone to listen to you, you should have a 2 way conversation. Thats y people cant talk about their beliefs because instead of talking to each other they end up attacking each other by saying"your wrong, no your wrong" and they both leave the conversation saying that this person attacked me.Try to speak about Islam in a more sentimental manner rather than challenging someone.ASA

dont forget, u r basing ur strength of point on the fact th@ the PEOPLE u have MET havent been able 2 convince u otherwise.
i hav no issues with any religion, but surely u dont have 2 attempt to mentally beat up ur "opponents"! since u claim 2 speak the truth, even in a calm state of DISCUSSION (not confrontation!!) u should be able 2 prove urself right.
the only thing is the strength in most of these types of debate is not who is "right" or "wrong" but he who can shout the loudest or mentally stiffle his opponent.
these discussions should be a search 4 the truth. if it is so, the person u r speakin wit is an ally, not an opponent. then u can discuss 2gether ur concepts in a search 4 the "truth".

Assad:
There are many people here who are willing to talk about their faith. The sad thing is that so many of them are ill-equipped to do so well.
Take, for example, GreenGrasshopper's assertion that having "faith" means they don't have proof. That is about as un-biblical a view on faith as you can get. If that were true, than the apostles, who were direct witnesses to the death and resurrection of Jesus, would have had no faith.
It's a little off your topic, but I feel I need to address it. The Bible gives a clear definition of faith in Hebrews. The Bible says "faith is the ASSURANCE of things hoped for, the CONVICTION of things unseen." The pattern we see in the Bible is God giving evidence of himself and his power, which leads to faith. Faith is TRUSTING God's word to be true, based on evidence from the past, which leads to the courage to ACT. The Blind Faith GreenGrasshopper talks about is not Biblical Faith.
I don't IM, but I will email you and we can dialog about why I am a Christian.
Thanks for the opportunity.

Its not about proving somebody wrong its more about hoping that that person will choose what is right. The truth is regardless of the argument a person will choose what they want to believe. People have tried "bible thumping" but that rarely works not because its not true. On the contrary its because the truth hurts and we as people try to stay away from things that harm us. Its far easier to believe a lie that doesn't hurt than believe a truth that directly says that something's wrong with you.

I've posed similar challenges, even wording it as "then prove ME wrong!" Good luck with intelligent, respectable takers, though.
As to the why they're so open to talk about their faith: It's a part of the doctrines and teachings of Jesus. Christians are charged to spread Jesus teachings; therefore, they must be open to discuss their beliefs.
Christians fear Muslims for two reasons: 1) Muslim extremists have voiced their intent to kill "all" Christians. Such an intent is as worthy of fear as the Christian intent to convert Muslims to Christianity inspires fear with Muslims. 2) Neither Muslims nor Christians have forgiven the other for the Crusades. This has inspired deep grudges between the Faithful of each.

you are already proven wrong, and every denial you say, the bible says you would deny Him. So that parts wrong, and I accept your challenge. The proof of God's existence is before your eyes, you just don't accept it, but you ask meaningless, childish questions saying others are scared to accept your challenge.
The bible says "A fool says in his heart there is no God."
If you say theres no God then your a fool and therefore can't teach anybody anything anyways.

Muslims are not the problem, not all Muslims practice Islam. Islam is the problem, only if they teach killing of someone because of their religion. If you wish to practice a different religion than mine, so be it. If you want to kill me for my religious beliefs than, I must defend myself.

Christians talk about their faith all the time, however, we couldn't be bothered talking to people who lie about their religion, or people whose only objective is to either convert or kill us.

What are you talking about? Who's afraid to talk about their faith? And no, we can't "prove" you wrong. You believe what you believe, and we believe what we believe. That's part of believing "in faith." It means we don't have proof.
Your question sort of contradicts itself for that reason.
