It's sad to say but the way some Christians speak to and treat Christians and non-christians you would tend to believe that is true.

Where's the Love, Concern, and Compassion Guys?!!

This world belongs to the prince of darkness. Do you not know this? Look around you - the world is filled with evil. You are battered daily by carnality. On TV. The radio. Billboards, you name it. Just look at the pressure on people to always be beautiful. If you aren't, get surgery. Fix your nose. Your eyes. It is all about vanity, and EVERYBODY wants to be 'hot'. Do you think God wants you to be 'hot'? This is Satan's domain. We are not to be conformed to the world, but are to walk in the spirit, as best we can. This is not easy, when everywhere you look, women dress to show everything they have, and sex sells EVERYTHING! So how is it that you think that a Christian can make the world a better place? Only one can make the world a better place, and that is Jesus Christ, when He comes to take the world back for God. Until then, it will be what man made it.

I can name at least ONE person who was a very devoted follower of Jesus... was working her way to heaven, died after completing her morning devotions and made the WORLD A MUCH MUCH BETTER PLACE for 1000s if not millions of people all over India and around the world.

The Late Great ( I believe Saint..) **Mother Teresa**, Mother to the Poor, Comforter of the Sick, Provider of the Hungry and Protector of the Homeless

I hope the people who are following are trying to make the world a better place? Cause following Jesus is about loving God, and your neighbor. which would if done properly would insure them going to heaven! Following Jesus is done not to prosper yourself it is to think and do for someone Else's needs. like answering questions like these to people who are unsure of the answers

Yes, people are selfish by nature. There is no need for any kind of religion in order to make the world a better place. It is a matter of action -not faith.

That's the impression I've gotten. I even asked a question about it, and the popular concensus was a pasted bible quote (imagine that!) saying something like our good deeds are rags to jesus. Or some such.

There are soem that think that, unfortunately. However, if one truely is a follower of Christ, there lives would overflow with love for others. That is why so many good things come from Christians; hospitals, charities, soup kitchens, work programs, etc.

I would hope it would be to do both. Christians are not perfect either, that may just be a opinion formed. If all the Christians were gone, you would be suprised to see what the world would be like. Just think of Iraq.
