Good sign, you're happy. Bad sign, you're not happy. Those are pretty big ones to me.
Communication, respect, trust, passion, all need to be there. If you're lacking in one department of another, then you should look at what can be fixed.
But overall, happy with relationship - good sign / unhappy with relationship - bad sign.

One question. Would you ever tolerate his behavior if it was another friend of yours instead? Do you guys like each other enough to work things out if things start to sour? The bad sign is not always in the other person. We blind ourselves from our own fallacies when we look at things in this perspective. So, unless he's causing you physical harm, verbally abusive, severely insecure, stalking, or otherwise cheating on you with someone else. Your relationship should be mutual. Both parties must compromise to have a "good" relationship. Communication is the key, as pointed out by the above answers. Good Luck!

Its all on how you feel. Some good signs to me might be bad signs to you, but if you feel good about the relationship then that is a good sign, if you are questioning it and having doubts then thats a good reason to end it.

good signs the relationship is going well
1- trust
2- the guy is really loving, touchy with you
3- you spend alot of time together
4- the guys is a complete gentleman that respects you
5- you fight or argue very little
Signs the relationship is bad
1- he lies to you about things
2- he starts being rude to you by screaming or calling you names and cursing you
3- when the guy doens't make an effort to spend time with you
4- shen you guys argue 1/2 the time you spend together.
5- when he only looks for you when he wants to have sex and then leaves and you don't hear from him again until 1 week later.

To sum it up in one word...secrets. If he or she is always keeping stuff from you then it shows that they're not a very open person and it can also show tendencies for dishonesty.
