They aren't udders... the dog has probably recently had puppies. They tend to become engorged like when humans have babies and can sometimes take on the appearence of udders.

Every dog is different... just like humans. Some humans have huge saggy "udders" and some have small pointy "udders". Same with dogs. Working at a dog groomers myself, you see all kinds. Also, it could have been a female that was either pregnant, breast feeding, or has breast fed before. *Note: I have seen males with these too. That's usually due to flabby skin from being over weigh or old age and loose skin.*

Um, It's possible that this dog had recently had a litter. Either that or it may have some sort of cancer or fluid retention. Other then that, no, i don't believe that this is a common occurrence among that or any other breed of dog.

This doesn't sound normal at all. Sounds more like a bad case of mastitis or mammary tomors. They wouldn't be nowhere near that big just because they had a litter of pups.
