Depends on the circumstances of the break up. If is wasn't a nice break up, then he is messing with your head as well as his own. If the break up was neutral & you decided to stay friends then sweetie could is his pet name for you without really meaning anything. I have female friends who call me things you would normally expect from a girlfriend (hun honey pet etc.)
But, if there are other signals like the way he looks at you then you have to talk to him. Find out what is going on in his head. You know, sometime, I'll have to take my OWN advice. Good Luck.

No. I call many women darling however I am happily married. Don't read too much into it - did he call you "sweetie" when you first met? If so it's something he does not even know he is doing.
Move on plenty of fish in the sea and all that.

Not necessarily. My ex girlfriend still calls me "babe", and that caused a lot of confusion early on. I wish people wouldn't do stuff like that. It sends the wrong signals. You should tell him that you are confused by him calling you that and that you want to know what it means.

Either that, or he is just being very nice to you. But if there is a chance the two of you could get back together, I suggest you take that chance. Good Luck.

either he's on an ego trip, and is calling you that to make you think he still wants you, or he maybe thinks he's made a mistake and is testing the waters, or it could be force of habit but i seriously doubt it, have a word with him, ask him outright

Strange that he still calls u that....maybe he feels bad for dumpin u but really does just wants to be friends with you. Why not just ask him? I would.

Or, he still wants for his own satisfaction but not as g/f b/f so he can still do his own thing...like alot of guys. Dnt fall 4 that!!

I'd say no, but only because he broke up with you, sweetie.

no, i don't think so....1. its just habit, and 2. its just sweet to call a "girl"-friend sweetie. theres not necessarily anything behind it.
