It isn't wrong to upstage her...

She thinks it is her day alone, when there are actually TWO PEOPLE getting married...

If you are the groom, GO FOR IT!!! :D

It is wrong to upstage the bride because the day is one of the most special in her life.

If you are the groom, you are also the center of attention and should remember that your behavior will be remembered... dont make a fool of yourself.

If you are a wedding party member, remember you were chosen to stand witht he couple and show your support. Support, not jealousy.

If you are a guest, you were invited to share in the love and joy of the union of the couple, dont try to get your "15 minutes of fame" this way. There's a time and place for everything and this would not be the time or place. If you did so your "15 minutes" would be forever remembered in a bad light, and this isnt what you want.

It's just rude!! And usually no one can upstage the bride anyway uless they wore white and really that wouldn't upstage her it would just have everyone talking thinking how tacky that person is to wear white to a wedding.... so really there is no such thing as upstaging the bride she and her hubby will always be the center of attention at their wedding.

No one ever upstages a bride, simple as that, it is the happy couple's day, all eyes are on them, not on anyone else. If anyone even thinks they can do upstage a bride they are sadly mistaken and should have their egos deflated.

I'm going to say YES!

If you are a bridesmaid--why can't you let your friend just enjoy her day? Why do YOU have to be the center of attention?

If you're the groom--you already will be the center of attention.

If you are invited--NEVER EVER upstage the bride as a guest! It's trasy and you may as well come naked. If you are indeed a guest, why would you want to upstage the bride? Can you not LET her be the center of attention for ONE day?

Although I agree with the person who said it is a day for two, the wedding belongs to the bride...the honeymoon to the groom.

Traditionally a wedding is a time that a new couple recieves gifts, advice, and a blessing as they begin their married life. It was a time when they put on their very best clothes, showed off what they had to encourage friends and family to contribute to their new household. The pomp and circumstance that is today's weddings is a new developement. But even in the olden days, it was about preparing to be a couple. Most of the time the woman received the gifts and attention because it was now her job to take care of her new husband. A wedding is a time of celebration for the new couple and no one else. If you want your time in the spotlight you throw a party for you.

The bride has likely been planning this day for months and dreaming about it her entire life. Its not often in today's society that we are allowed to preen and have so much attention focused on us in a positive way; let the bride enjoy it.

If you are questioning why it is wrong; that means you may want the attention yourself and that is an esteem issue.

Because its the brides day to be paraded around and be treated like a princess. Anyone who would attempt to upstage her should be shot.

Because it is her day and you would not want someone to upstage you on a day that was special to you.

It is the bride's day and she deserves the spotlight for that amount of time. Besides, unless the wedding is black tie, you would look rediculous going in a floor length white gown...or any other color for that matter...
