You don't give enough details here, but if you go to http://www.us-immigration-attorney.com/child.htm you should be able to tell whether your daughter is eligible. If she's unmarried and under 21 you should be able to get her an immigrant's visa if not full naturalization immediately.

You'll have to go through a process, birth documents, but being youre an American, and want your daughter with you, it will be easy for her to become a citizen and stay than for others. I knew 2 brothers, who had simular to you, theyre parents were American military over seas, where they were born in Germany, but they had a fairly easy time, it just took a while. Good luck.

Hate to contradict the others without certain knowledge, but I thought that anyone born on US soil, or who has an American parent could become a citizen automatically. The State Department would know--if it isn't on their website call them.
I knew someone who had dual citizenship for sports purposes because of where they were born and their parents.

That depends on if her mother was an American citizen or not. If she was, the child is automatically and American citizen no matter where she was born. I do believe that even if one parent was American, they can claim citizenship anyway.

All you need is a child born abroad certificate from the embassy in Germany then she can apply for a US passport. She is automatically a US Citizen when either of her parents are US, American citizens.
Good luck!!!! and have fun with discovering who she is!!!!

Your American, I am assuming the mother is German. Your child has grown up in Germany. She would need to be naturalized. Especially since you are most likely not on her birth certificate.

Yes it's "law of blood." Your daughter is an American citizen because she has an American father(you) and accordiing to USA government she has the right to live here and is an American.

I also hate to contradict the others but the answer is YES. My brother married a woman from Monacco. They had a son in Spain. The son (who is now 8) is an automatic citizen because of my brother.

She should be able to get citizenship. It will be very easy because she has an American parent.

If only one parent is American, it takes more. Contact the immigration service. If both parents were, the child would only have to elect it.
