What's her ring size? You might give it away if you just ask her this question... so, I would suggest taking one of her rings that she wears on her ring finger (esp. on her left hand), get it sized at a jewelry store, and then of course put the ring back once you've found out the size.
Ask her does she like silver or gold... or a mixture of both.
And, I can't think how you would ask her her favorite shape (pear, heart, round, princess)...maybe she already has other rings that you can see what shape she likes best.

Surprise her, she would like that more and it will be more of a special moment. If you are thinking about marrying her then you should have a good idea about what she likes/dislikes. Don't worry about if the ring will fit or not either because if you buy it from a proper jewelry shop you will be able to take it back and exchange it for the correct size. My husband surprised me and my ring didn't fit so we just got the size changed.

You need to find out what type of diamonds she likes and what settings she likes. When you go shopping together next time. Casually walk past a jewellers. She'll stop and have a look.....what girl won't?.....

Take note of what ones she looks at, ask her what she likes about the rings she looks at the most. You'll quickly get an idea of what she likes and dislikes.

But also don't be afraid of picking something yourself. She'll love the thought that you were able to make this decision by yourself. So look at what style clothes she wears, her other jewellery.

Finally you can risk it all and pick something without her imput. What style of ring would you like your soon to be finance to wear? Somthing classical, something unquie, something you desgined yourself?

Good luck

This is the best way to do it.... .usually on TV or in a Mag a woman is wearing a ring so you could sometimes be like... wow look at that ring and she might say no, I don't like it, I like something like this or that.... I say that is the best way to go about it... or you could mention her moms ring and see what she says about it... also you NEED to get her ring size... there is nothing worse than getting engaged and the ring not fitting when you try to put it on her finger. Good Luck.

If you all are talking about marriage anyway, why not just go ring shopping together? That way she can pick out what she likes in her size...Just make a mental note of everything and then go back and buy the one she wanted or design something special....

My fiance and that i visit be at the same time almost 10 years as quickly as we get married this summer season. we at the instant are the two 29. For my twenty fourth birthday, he offered me a outstanding promise ring that replaced into his birthstone (aquamarine for March). It replaced into very candy and that i felt like he replaced into continually with me when I wore it, which replaced into continuously. some human beings think of promise rings are for immature severe college youngsters. i've got faith this is a sturdy step between relationship and engagement that greater human beings ought to take. All too in lots of cases human beings rush into engagement and in lots of cases they finally end up calling off the engagement or as quickly as they get married finally end up divorced. My fiance proposed final summer season, as quickly as we've been the two 28 (4 years after giving me my promise ring) with the main ideal diamond ring I had ever seen! perhaps you need to get her a promise ring now and then purchase an engagement ring nearer to commencement. That way you will possibly want a dedication this is greater severe than boyfriend/lady pal and you will possibly want a lot greater time to shop for a hoop which will relatively take her breath away! additionally, in case you think of her mum and dad will freak out, then this is unquestionably greater suitable to attend. A promise ring is acceptable on your subject.

If she has any magazines around the house, find an ad for diamond rings in it, and tell her that a friend of yours is going to propose and he wants to know what girls like these days! She should tell you with no suspicions! Or ask one of her girlfriends...she will know for sure!

Be more assertive, she'll like a man with confidence. Pick the one you like the best, and if she truly has something to say against it you can talk about that after she has the one you picked. Either that or you're the type of guy who has his wife making all the family decisions. Good luck with that one if that's you. Long life ahead of you in that case.

Whoa!!!! Don't mention anything about the ring to her because it will ruin the surprise. Besides, it won't matter what it looks like as long as it's coming from you.

Next time you are in a mall or near a jeweler, stop in to get your watch "fixed" or to check something out (for Mom, yourself, whatever)...and while you are in there, keep an eye on her...even ask, "if you could get anything in this store...what would it be?"

Pay attention and then go back in without your GF and be ready to spend the cash.
