I don't know how old you are, but let me tell you something. I am 23 and live on my own. I work full time, and attend college in the evening, plus work on my practicum with our city. I never take money from my parents and the men I prefer to date are self-sufficient as well. If you are in med school, I'd think differently.
It really depends on what age group you are targeting... but generally guys who live with their parents and are trying to finish college are a little too immature for me. I feel that I've taken the steps to be responsible for myself and would like a man to do the same so that when I know we get together, he'll know how to do the laundry, pay bills, manage his time, etc, and I won't be stuck with a "son" like I have witnessed some of my friends adopting.
A guy attending college, living on his own and working is THE turn on in this situation.

no that's not a turn off if you're actually doing something...i'll be 20 years old next month and i still live with my parents but i go to college full time and i work full time ...it's easier this way for now until i know i can really make it on my own without my parents having to pay for my apartment like all the other spoiled kids

Depends on his age. I know it is horrible to say, but it really does depend on the age. A guy in his early to mid twenties, not a turn off at all. It is obviously difficult to date, because you can't take the girl back to your house, and schmooze her, but most girls are in the same situation.
Now getting into the upper twenties, it is not a complete turn-off, but not winning points. It's terrible, but girl's tend to wonder if there is something wrong.
It depends on the guy too. It's not hard to read a guy, when he gives you the facts. His personality, poise, character, etc. all come into play.
My advice...if a woman is not going to give you the time of day because of your living situation, your job situation, or the fact that you are going to college, then she is definately not worth your time.
Good luck with college!

a guy going through college, living on his own, and holding a job is a tun-on. but a guy living with his parents while going to college is smart. not everyone can hold a job while going to school. now if you're living with your parents just because you're afraid to live on your on or because you're spoiled then thats a turn off.

Yes. A turn-on should be a guy living on his own, working full time and STILL going through college.

I would have to say kinda. It depends on the whole situation. Does he do his own laudry or does his momma do it for him. Those kind of things matter. Even if you are in college you should still have a part time job at least.

some females may not necessarily find it a turn off but rather admire the fact that you're working your way through college unlike a lot of guys who are in your sistuation and decide to mooch off their parents forever. by going to college, you are showing people that you are willing to work and that you have goals. that is very attractive to me.

I don't have a job, but I'm a full time student and it worth it. Now my GPA is 3.8 and if i had a job my GPA wouldn't be so low. Don't listen to other losers. Maybe they think that you are lame now. But in the future when you going to get instead of 30.000$ 140.000$ or more they will be lame for the rest of their life's. Be the man
