I’m not sure about online forums, but below I’ve linked to a couple of articles I think do a pretty good job about explaining health insurance and giving tips about what to look for. One of them has a worksheet where you can mark off what competing plans feature. Keep in mind while you’re shopping for health insurance that low-cost health plans are not always the least expensive. Generally, health plans differ based on:

•Monthly price
•Annual deductible
•Access to health care (specialists you can see or medical procedures you can have)
•Financial strength of the insurer

These three variables are interconnected. The higher the monthly premium, the lower the annual deductible and the reverse is true. Having greater freedom in choosing where you want to receive medical treatment will cost more money, and plans from financially weaker health insurers might be less expensive but more risky.

I am not familiar with any online forums, but a good agent will do this for you. And, they know which companies are easy to work with, and which ones try to get out of paying your claims. Ask around and get some referrals from friends and family regarding who their agent is.
