A buddy of mine told me that he was starting a diet. I asked him what he was going to do and he said he was going to eat nothing by rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Has anyone heard of this and does it work?

I told him the best thing to do is cut out all sugars, eat in moderation, and excercise.

Yes, my boss buys those microwaveable rice pouches and eats them everyday, but he also eats fruit and vegetables. He's lost weight, but your advice is probably the best I've heard....

Asian people eat rice every day and they're very healthy (I'm one of them!)

both of you are wrong! eating nothing but rice will make him sick, and cutting out all sugar will not give him enough energy. Both will cause cravings for foods you are not eating The best diet is to eat the correct amount of everything. And knowing what a serving is. generally, except for sugar and salt, a serving is the amount that would fit into the palm of your hand. One serving of meat is about the size of your palm, and one serving of fruit or veggies is about half a cup. One serving of bread or pasta is either 1 slice of bread, or 1 cup of pasta. look up 'Canada's food guide chart' on the internet and you will find a good sample
