I heard that some airline have banned some things on the planes because of 9/11 but, there are some things like books,etc.

Read, watch movies, sleep. I favor Jet Blue and Virgin because they have the best entertainment of the airlines I've tried. If others have good systems I'd be pleased to know. KLM and United are terrible, 1970s entertainment in 1990s aircraft. The KLM flight from San Francisco to Schiphol still has 14" tvs that show crummy taped movies. Virgin, and other top airlines, have video on demand. Jet Blue has DirectTV.
Drinking alcohol is a bad idea, it adds to the dehydrating effect of a low pressure and dry environment and can leave you with a crushing headache. I wouldn't recomend prescription sedatives to anyone, for anything.

Read a book/magazine. Listen to music on your mp3 player, if you have one. Watch the movie, if one is shown - there is also TV on some planes. If you're going to have a laptop with you, and it has a DVD drive, bring a couple movies to watch. Talk to the person sitting next to you. Sleep. Get drunk. Stare out the window and try to figure out where you are based on what you see on the ground.

Bring your MP3 or Ipod with you. Or the new Iriver mini tv that fits in you hand, only for $80 in some nternet sites

you arnt allowed some electrical equipment on the plane so maybe take a book of sudoku or watch a movie if available, hand luggage is usa can include board games such as risk, monopoly, chess, reversi. etc

A fun thing to do is to pretend you're a highjacker, give orders and scare everybody, and then say "oh wait, this isn't the right plane. Sorry everybody."

books,sleep,laptop,gameboy,write,homework,listen 2 music,people watch,draw,sudoko (i do this all the time),play cards with the person next 2 u,play with the cool screens if they have them on the seat in front of you,invent (i dunno why i do this but i do), or do what i like to do most...think...in my opinion u have tons of time and nothing to do so u can just get a peice of paper and write down things about ur life like problems and try to think about them...hope i helped
