OK, so my Mom says that I can't wear a spaghetti strap shirt because it shows off my boobs. I tell her it is just a fashion thing and she still won't. Am I the only girl who's mom is this way? What should I tell her?

honestly...it is not the best thing for big chested girl to wear. You need a little more support that a thin strapped shirt. I guess you didn't say you had a big chest, did you? My bad...but that is my advice...

It also depends on your age, and I am thinking you are not close to 18 because your mom won't let you wear something. My personal opinion is if you are under 16, then you shouldn't be wearing thin strapped anything.

Your mom and you need to compromise...ask her what she thinks you should wear, and put the two together (I pretty sure her advice would be a long sleeved baggy blouse of some sort), and then laugh and come to a compromise.

Mom's can be very understanding when you can work with them, not against them. They are a little hipper than you think. (I am not a mom, either).

it all depends on your age and the size of your boobs...

if you are young then they are only protecting you.. yeah that can be pants but there are a lot of pervs about...

and unfortunately some top are designed for certain body shapes.. some tops can gape if you aren't the right size up top and these type of tops can definitely show too much if you are bigger up top... perhaps they are trying to stop the guys looking at you in certain way... yeah they can be over protective but dont let the rebelious side of you blank the possibility of good advice.

is there a way you can compromise?

and remember if you do do the usual of wearing something big over it and then taking it off when you go out, guys will look at them and that can make you feel a bit poop if its not what you are looking for and if you are not used to dealing (maybe due to age) with the attention then you could find yourself in a difficult situation.
PS:wear a good bra, as you may un-intentionally showing the puppies and you dont want to have to tuck them in to your belt when you are 50.

First of all, how old are you? If you mom doesn't want you to wear it, then you probably shouldn't. There will be a time when you will be old enough and can wear what you want, but listen to your mom. She only wants what's best for you. OR, maybe you could meet in the middle and wear a cute shrug over it to make it better for both of you.

Well your moms just trying to protect you..My mom was like this when I was around 13-18 then she stopped telling me not to wear spaghetti straps..Doesn't it feel uncomfortable with everyone staring at places that they shouldn't be? I think your moms just trying to protect you from any harm..

I don't really know what type of shirt your describing, but nonetheless I think you should compromise with your mom. Don't go behind her back, that's stupid. Plus, isn't there a dress code at your school? If you get in trouble, your mom will find out, and then you're right back at square one.
My mom isn't that way about me, but then I don't wear anything that she disagrees with because that's just me.

She is going to give you her opinion if you like it or not..that's what mothers do. If you respect your mother you will consider what she says and then choose to agree or disagree. Keep in mind she has your best intentions in mind. If her comment is just a fashion statement then its up to you to follow it or not. You don't need to say anything to her- don't have an attitude telling her its wrong because its her opinion and she has a right to tell you her opinion. If you don't agree just wear it and that's the end of it.

Your mom just simply cares too much for her little girl and is having a difficult time accepting that you are growing up. All moms are protective like that over their daughters. That is very good for you because it is very obvious that she cares for you very much. When you are older or better yet a mom, you will be no different. Humour your mom for now she'll grow out of this protective stage eventually.

I was raised by my dad and he had the same problem with me when i was a teenager. I wanted so badly to wear them, so whenever i left the house i would change. But i realized that it was stupid for me to wear those kinds of clothes- i was attracting the wrong kind of attention. I managed to reach a middle ground with my dad by getting a tank that didnt show that much clevage. Good luck!

I am 13... my mom says that but I do anyways... If you really wanna wear them, wear a hoodie before you go to school and then take it off to show some!

Actually I made the choice not to wear them for that reason. I don't particularly like guys looking at my breasts. which they will. So I'd have to say your mom's a smart lady.
