It sounds like you have an issue with the church and not Christianity. You can be a good, faithful Christian without going to church. I know how hard it was for me as a teenager who's parents made me go to church against my will every Sunday. But since that time I drifted away from God and ignored Him. This cause great pain and hurt in my life because I ended up almost dieing of alcohol abuse. When I turned 23 I got delivered from alcohol by Jesus Christ and have been following Him ever since and my life is at an all-time high, I seriously couldn't be happier!

You might think, "Well, that's good for you but it's not for me." Well, I too thought that same exact thing when I was a teenager. Low and behold I was missing out on the best day's of my life! Please don't make thew same mistake.

Sounds like you need need to listen to your mother, you're still a teenager! However, you shouldn't feel like you can't sit down with you mother and tell her what you're feeling. For example, ask your mom if you can have a talk. Tell her you aren't that interested in religion, that you feel it restricts what and what you cannot do as a teenager, and that you would hope she would allow you to chose how and what to believe in. However, if she says she would like you to go to church with her you should. Don't blow of your parents, they only want what's best for you.

Also, as a teenager, there really isn't anything you should be doing that is contrary to Christianity anyway, because it is most likely against the law; it's not like you can't make out with boys/girls or anything.

Tell her you have you own relationship with God and you think that the people in the Church are wasting their time.

Or, simply tell her you don't have time for it.

Personally, I used to wake up early on Sunday and leave before my parents woke up. I used to get in trouble for it, but I really thought the people at church were evil.

If you're going to go that route, I'd recommend planning some sort of extra-curricular activity for the Sunday morning that starts and ends early so you can be free. You'll get in less trouble that way than I did.

Well, I have been going through the same thing for like 2 years. I used to be a hardcore christian in my early teens and then I went athiest and now I am torn between athiest and agnostic.

My grandma is OBSESSED with the bible and church and all that crap. She always tries to witness to me and my sister.

What you can do... is tell your mom you'll go maybe once a month. That is what I do.
I mean, if you at least go SOMETIMES, maybe not all the time, your mom has no reason to complain.

Move out of the house and get a place of your own. Make sure that you leave everything that your parents ever bought you behind. Get a job so you can support yourself. Make sure that you do all of this with absolutely no help from anyone else.

When you are able to do this, you will show them that you do not need anyone else and do not need othre people to help you financially, physically, emotionally, or spiritually. You will then show them that you do not need to go to church.

You need to listen to your mother. You will one day see what you can not see now. You will remember this. Jesus said every tongue shall confess and every knee will bow. Don't let it be too late. Death has no age, you do not want to leave this world not knowing the lord. I don't care what these other people are saying.

I've known people who have 'accepted' Christianity because it was a significant part of family life when they were growing up. Later, many of these 'converts' don't follow Christianity at all. If you don't accept it of your own free will, it won't last.

As a teen, you really have no real choice. You can fuss about it, but most parents are "My house, my rules." You may have to bite your tongue until you move out. Or you can try to find something to enjoy about church.

i dont blame you really. but nothing forces you to believe. i went to christian school from k-11th, i stopped believing in 6th, hwoever was forced to sit during chapel (church service in school). i just took it as it came i guess. as for your mom, if shes understanding then id tell her that i dont believe the way she does, and if shes truly a christian she wont try forcing it on me, and she'll love me just the same. if shes not like that then id keep to myself and daydream in church i guess.

or you can learn in church, i read and researched and found so many flaws in the bible. cant even take it seriously anymore.
