Eat fruits and veggies in place of high calorie foods and watch what you are putting on your salad(dressing) dip the fork in the dressing and then pick up your bite of salad you get the flavor and cut down on the high fat dressing, chose whole grains for your bread and limit you servings. keep a diary of what you eat and then go back to see what you can exchange a food item for a healthier selection.

Best way would be to eat things like oatmeal, wheat bread, fruits for breakfast, even egg whites are good for you. Eat veges. for lunch or something thats lean like turkey. Try to kill your food craving by eating different cereals between meals (if you must eat). Most of the cereals are low on calories. Plus you can exercise (thats the best way to burn fat). If you are already overweight, your body initially takes time to lose few pounds but then gets into the rhythm if you keep doing the right things.

All foods that contain calories will make you gain weight. The trick is eating healthy foods in the right portions for your size and metabolism.
I would like to comment about salt. Salt does not contain calories so it will not cause you to get fat. What salt does is make you retain water. Water has weight to it so when you retain more of it, you weigh more. This isnt bad though because water weight is lost easily.
here is a list of the top 10 best and worst foods to eat...

If you drink soda, stop & drink water. No hi-call fancy coffee drinks, either.
Salad, yes--but use little or no dressing, it's loaded with calories! Fat Free Italian is best. No meat or cheese in it either--just veggies.
Soups are good for weight loss--read the label for those that have 100 calories or less per serving. You should eat 1200-1300 calories a dy.
No fast food, either!

you should cut out as many carbs, colories, sugars and sodium as possible wheat bread is good, certain foods have labels on them that says things like low this and low that but that could just be crap!! make sure to check the content chart on the back and compare it to other stuff, then buy the thing with the least carbs, calories, sugars and sodium. Plus excersing always helps! walk or run and do stuff like sit-ups or lift weights to gain muscle and decrease body fat!! good luck!

Fruit and bran for breaky like bananas, then heavier lunch a hot meal if you can pasta, rice potatoes with things. Then a much lighter evening meal. If you eat more in the morning it gives your body all day to burn it off. rather then going to bed bloated and the food just going into your fat reserves. if you need to snack try fruit and dont forget to drink loads of water. Also excersise if you feel upto it.But see your doctor if you are making really big changes here. We dont want any dead atavars on our hands xxxgood luck xxx
