He was trying to do the right thing but was overtaken by his own lust . He said he fought the devil but the devil won.He can be redeemed. I hope he is.

Does it matter? Are you tring to justify bad behavior because someone else had worse behavior? Does it make your feel better to point the finger of blame and say that because they are worse than you that makes everything okay?
What a selfish people we have become when we spend all our time trying to justify our bad behavior by saying its okay because somebody has done worse.
How worthless have we as people become? What a statement to be left for history? What a wonderful gift we have given to those who will come behind us? What a wonderful mess we have left for someone else to clean up.
We must really be very proud of what we all have become.
