I'm undecided on time TRAVEL, but it is definitely possible to SEE into the past...

If you were to be suddenly 2 light years from earth with a powerful space telescope, you would see the earth of 2 years ago.... If you were to be 50 light years from earth with a powerful space telescope, you would see the earth of 50 years ago...

However, do you ever wonder if it is possible to change events with "intention" alone?

What if I intend in the future to build a time machine. If I also intend to come back and change something, can it be done in present?

If time travel is possible, and if I truly intend to make a time machine (granted that it can be done), then with intention I can make the TV outside my room change to a different channel if I intend to come back and change it... It's fun to wonder about these things...

There is currently no known law of physics that would rule it out. However, most known types of time machine have been shown to need either more energy than is available in the universe (Gott Time Machine) OR infinite energy.

Most people worry about causality, but this is genuinely a non-issue. If one travels to try to change history, that 'change' is already part of the history experienced, since one already went back and made the attempt.

In essence, even with time travel, causality cannot be violated, nor can paradox loops form.

This has interesting consequences for free will, however, in that it's one more nail in the coffin for the belief in free will.

I once had this really great sandwich. I always fantasized that someday I could go back in time and eat the sandwich again. But then If I did, I would only get half the sandwich because I would have to share it with myself. If I only got half the sandwich the first time around, I wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much so I never would have gone back in time to enjoy it over.

I call this the Sandwich Paradox of time travel. Its my own theory. I'm no physicist, but I believe it to be fundamentally sound.

I also have a theory which proves the existence of bigfoot using a large garlic pickle.

The problem with Time travel is that if such a thing were to be possible someone at some point in history would have met one that did time travel. Unless of course they just never go back before time travel was invented.

Absolutely I do, except that the time destination could never be accurately calculated, and likely you would only be able to go backwards in time, one that you already have lived. Time travel will come with the development of space travel, since speeds approaching that of light would be required to jump the time barrier, and this could only occur in the void of space, and with technologies that we have not yet developped. With the scientific progress of today, we may be looking at this type of knowledge in the very near future.

no, unless by time travel you mean to a parallel universe. if you were able to time travel in the same earth you are from, then life/time would be nothing more then a reoccuring event. you go into the future see yourself, then later in your future, youd see yourself, and then the self you saw would then see itself in its own future. kinda like an infinite loop. however parallel universes might have a completely different reasoning behind it all together. and i dont doubt. anything is possible.

It is theoretically possible... however, the conditions that are required for such a journey make it impractical. Not to mention the possibility of a paradox... I don't think humans will ever travel through time.

I time travel every day, I go to sleep at night and when I wake up, it's the future.

If Stephen Hawking's latest theory is correct, then time travel may exist, but only between separate universal outcomes.

On surface, yes I think I do. But, once I really think about it, it seems like it wouldn't be possible simply because if people are coming back in time for example, wouldn't we have heard about it by now? But I love the idea and would LOVE to go back in time.
