I under the process totally i speak in tongues my self i was just curious to see what people thought and i do believe that the church is dead without it i'm in a apostolic ministry as well for i know that its not wrong to speak in tongues and that every believer should for it edtifies the soul and is warfare against the enemy i also know that if your in church and the Pastor is preaching and someone to say gets up and interups the service by speaking in tongues better be able to interpert and if you can't or don'd have a prophet there to interpert it thats where believeres go wrong thats what Paul was indicating. Thats all.

There are several different ways that God can use tongues.

1) It is your prayer language that can only be interpreted by God
2) Some people have the gift of tongue intepretation. Someone receives a word from God in church service. This word is given in tongues. Someone stands up and interprets this message. This is used to edify and lift up the church body.
3) in the upper room when each person was filled with the holy ghost and spake in other tongues. The people outside each heard of the glory of the Lord in his own language. This gift is called the gift of Divers Tongues. I have heard of people witnessing to unbelievers in the unbelievers language (german, spanish etc) The person witnessing only spoke in english and knew no other language. Yet was able to reach an unbeliever thru the gift of divers tongues.

Anyone, even new believers can receive the prayer language (ex.#1) all you have to do is believe and receive. The prayer language tongue is an evidence of the infilling of the holy ghost.

Honestly, how can anyone say that if you DON'T speak in tongues then your church is dead. What kind of worldly interpretation is that. The bible says that speaking in tongues is a GIFT, it's not a requirement. Do all men have the gift of teaching, of healing, of prophesying? NO. There are many different gifts given by the holy spirit at baptism.

What? Speaking in tongues was ONLY in reference to people speaking in other languages, enabled by the Holy Spirit.

It's in the BIBLE.
Acts 2:4-6
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongue as the Spirit enabled them.
Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

Note the last three words in verse six:
HIS OWN LANGUAGE.

This means that they weren't speaking in gibberish. They were speaking in OTHER LANGUAGES.
